Our studio is owner built and displays
all the signs of the builder’s imagination. Peter has included
many collected second hand materials into the design of the studio.
Whilst modern in plan, the finishing touches are unconventional.
A surfboard makes an unusual stand for the bathroom
basin and a section of red-gum stump from Arnhem Land supports the
mirror.
The kitchen bench top is a science bench from
one of Melbourne’s old secondary colleges; the students indents
still visible. Fixtures and fittings have been collected from here
and there.
The balcony posts are red-gum stumps from ‘Mothers’
fence! And the blanket box is a re-furbished toy box from the 1950’s
with 1850’s hinges from an outback shearing shed.
